Wobble board FAQs

Everything you need to know about using, choosing and buying a Wobbly Horse board. Can’t find your answer? Ask us.

Is it safe?

Introduce the board gradually over about 4 sessions, on a level non-slip surface, with your horse in hand. Never leave a horse alone on the board, and stop if your horse is anxious or uncomfortable.

Can I use it during rehab?

Many owners do, alongside their vet or physio. Please check with them first, because every case is different.

How often should I use it?

Start with 3–5 minutes at a time, with a short walking break, and repeat 3 times. Build up gradually. We do two 10-minute sessions, 2–3 times a week, before riding, lunging or groundwork.

How long until I see results?

Changes are gradual. With our own horse, we saw a visible increase in muscle after about 6 weeks of regular sessions.

How do I introduce the board?

Let your horse investigate and reward every touch. Then reward a foot resting on the board, then both front feet. Next, lead your horse over it from the short side, and finally onto it with all four feet. A fence on one side helps with straightness. It usually takes about 4 sessions of 10–20 minutes. Read our step-by-step guide.

Do I need the Frame?

Not to start with. The Frame adds more movement to the One-directional board once your horse is confident. The Bi-directional, Small and Circular boards don’t need a frame.

What size are the boards?

The One-directional and Bi-directional boards are 60 × 122 cm as standard, and we can make custom sizes on request. The Small board is 30 × 60 cm.

How long does delivery take, and how much is it?

Every board is made to order by our carpenter, which takes up to 2 weeks. UK mainland delivery is free on the One-directional and Bi-directional boards. Delivery for the Frame or Small board is £50. You can also collect free of charge from Hungerford, West Berkshire.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

We regularly get enquiries from Ireland and Europe. Online checkout is set up for UK delivery only. Contact us with your country and postcode, and we’ll let you know whether we can deliver and what it would cost. Buyers outside the UK may need to pay import VAT or duties on delivery.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. Choose Klarna at checkout to pay in 3 interest-free instalments. Card payments are taken securely by Stripe.

What if it doesn’t suit my horse?

You can return an unused, undamaged board within 14 days. See our returns policy for details.

Do you offer trade prices for physios, vets and yards?

Yes. Get in touch about our professional partner scheme.
